Jen + Shawn {St. Louis Wedding} Part 2

It was hard to narrow Jen and Shawn's wedding into one blog post...so here is the second blog post.

Shawn and Jen had a beautiful, outdoor ceremony at Bee Tree Park. The day was warm and a bit humid, but the rain and cicadas stayed away (for the most part). There was an incident where a brave bridesmaid plucked a cicada from the bride's dress.

On to the reception!

Instead of a unity candle, Shawn and Jen chose to have a unity sand. Sand from Florida representing Shawn, and sand from Missouri representing Jen.

This next photo cracks me up. Jen, did you get to taste any of the cake or did it bypass your tastes buds and go directly to your stomach?

At the reception, there were all kinds of great outdoor games. The one that drew quite a crowd was a rather lengthy game of Giant Jenga.

After the guests had left, we took advantage of the last remaining sun light and grabbed a few more shots of the bride and groom.

Shawn and Jen, your wedding was absolutely beautiful! I wish you many years of happiness together!

Jen + Shawn {St. Louis Wedding} Part 1

Shawn and Jen have got to be one of the cutest couples of all time. They originally met while both attending Missouri Baptist University. But back in those, Jen just wasn’t impressed so the story goes. But eventually over time, they connected via Facebook while Shawn was living in Florida and Jen was still here in St. Louis. And as they say, the rest is history.

Shawn had a ring, and it was burning a hole in his pocket. He kept waiting for the perfect moment in the perfect place, but all of his plans kept falling through. So one cold day at his apartment, while Jen sat bundled up in maroon sweats and a coat outside, Shawn told her, “I’m tired of waiting for the perfect moment to spend the rest of my life with the perfect woman.” And Jen agreed!

That perfect day came. And I was happy to be there to photograph this beautiful occasion.

Jen, you were such a classically beautiful bride.

We left the hotel and headed to Bee Tree Park to find Jen's groom so he can take that First Look at his bride. And I have to tell you, it was the sweetest thing ever. Shawn was so nervous. When he saw her, he was in awe and a bit teary eyed. He said, "You look beautiful. It's [the dress] so you."

Shawn, in case you weren't aware, you married a stunningly beautiful lady!

The Runck Family {Sneak Peak}

So the Runck family could not have picked a better June day to schedule their family photo session. It was 72 degrees with a soft breeze blowing. Just amazing weather. Miss S was simply adorable and full of personality and sass. And I loved it! I love photo sessions where there is real laughter. You can tell this family enjoys one another! Take a look at their sneak peak, and you’ll know what I mean.
