The B Brothers {Sneak Peak}

As the B Brothers photo shoot was nearing, we were watching the skies. The weather here in St. Louis has been crazy. Cold one day, hot the next, rain, hail, and tornadoes. The night before I checked weather.com, and it was forecasting rain for an hour into the session. But as the day wore on, the rain kept moving further back. And it turned out to be just perfect. I met up the handsome little B men and there momma in old town St. Charles. Little B was to be the main subject of the photos as it was his 1 year photo shoot. But at first he was not very happy to see me.

So we took a little walk into town...and...he still wasn't happy with me. I pride myself on being a real charmer. He wasn't buying it.

I seemed to be having a little better luck with big B who was more than ready to have his picture taken.

We thought maybe the trains might entertain little B, and there was a warming starting to show through those teary eyes.

And then he just wasn't sure again. He was walking along and realized that Mommy was a little farther away than he wanted her to be. His disgruntled faces were priceless.

But after this, he was a happy little adventurous boy.

It was so fun photographing these little guys. And the rain amazingly stayed away until about a half hour after we finished.

Life with a Three-Year Old {A Reflection}

While I was editing photos one day, my three-year-old daughter, who loathes getting her picture taken, asked me to take her picture. I grabbed my camera and captured this treasure.

Sure her hair's a mess. She's not dressed. But that determined little look in her face and that bit of humor playing at her lips captures her personality. Our girl is a challenge. I might be a bit biased as her mother, but her little brain is amazing. Her imagination has me opening my mouth in astonishment and then laughing the next moment. Her energy level is off the charts and at times tiring. She marches to the beat of her own drum. She is a natural born leader and a determined one at that. She knows what she knows and don't argue with that! But I love her just the way she is. I love that she tells me every day, "You're the best mommy in the whole world!" She gives the absolute best hugs of all time. She is beautiful on the inside and out, just the way God made her to be. And I am truly blessed that He has given me this gift.

Baby Boy A {Sneak Peak}

You might remember this little guy from his newborn pictures. The sun was brutal on this particular day. And he wasn't too keen on the brightness, but as long as we found him some shade, Sweet Baby Boy A was a happy fellow. And when you catch a smile where he shows you those two little bottom teeth, it melts your heart. Enjoy this sneak peak from his sunny session.

A Happy 1st Birthday {Sneak Peak}

This sweet angel turned 1 yesterday. Birthday parties are so fun to photograph, especially first birthdays! Miss A seemed to enjoy her party, especially the balloons and all of the attention. She wasn't too keen on her hair bow. Mommy was determined to keep it on...the birthday girl was bent on taking it off. Either way, she was one beautiful birthday princess. Happy 1st Birthday, Miss A!

{Henson Family Sneak Peak} - St. Louis Family Photographer

I was excited when my friend Miriam called and asked me to photograph her sweet two-year-old Miss K. Miriam and I used to work together and attend the same church when I was in college. Miriam even hosted one of my bridal showers. New jobs, life, and marriage have moved us in different parts of the city so it was really nice to catch up with her!

If there's one thing you can love about St. Louis, it's the weather. You just never now what it's going to be. Just a week ago we had 4 inches of snow on the ground, and today it was 88 degrees outside. Pure craziness. So because I wasn't sure how the weather was going to be, we met at the Jewel Box in Forest Park. Can you say hot and humid?! We grabbed a few shots in there and then hustled out to where it was cooler.

Thankfully, it was much warmer outside than I originally anticipated it being. The sun was bright so we found a nice bit of shade so that Miss K could have a fabulous tea party.

She told her mommy to blow on the tea because it was "hot."

We adjourned to Shaw's Coffee, where we enjoyed a cup of coffee, and I may or may not have lost and gained a friend. I bought Miss K a rather large chocolate chip cookie...right before her nap time. She loved it...not so sure her mom did. But how could I not get the darling little girl a prize. What other two-year-old offers you a fist bump? Super adorable! It was a pleasure photographing this fantastic family.
