{My Family} My Guy

In keeping up with my blog, I thought I would do a little blog post about my main squeeze. I took this head shot last year for a photo he needed for work. He looks so handsome, so distinguished, and so young...It's sickening really.

At preschool our four-year-old was asked to answer questions about her dad. One question was: What does your dad do for a living? Her response was: "He works hard as a construction worker." This prompted us to really try to explain what it was that her dad does for a living. I guess we didn't realize that up until this point she just knew that her dad worked for Snoopy. So I explained to her that her dad was a financial advisor. When asked what this was, I explained to her that he helps people with investments. In a real disappointed voice, she said, "Ohhh, he helps people with investments?!"

Seriously, he is one of the hardest working men I know. He has a strong work ethic and a real passion for his job. He thoroughly loves what he does. I'm thankful that he works hard so that I can work hard at being a stay-at-home mom, a blessing I never want to take for granted.

And as an added bonus...he's rather good looking. I'm the lucky girl he comes home to. :)

{My Family} 3-Month Beauty

I'm a little behind as always...in everything...okay so I am waaaaaayyyy far behind in EVERYTHING! My house is a wreck. And I have a kid with the flu. Praying it stops with just her. But I am trying desperately to keep up with this resolution of posting on this blog regularly! So I thought I would post a few pictures from a little mini session I did back in August with my then 3-month old. She is pretty cute...if I do say so myself.

And then I thought I would throw in a couple of my equally cute assistant. :)

{Wedding} A Peak at a Sneak Peak

So I promised a wedding post. And I've been trying to get a lengthy post together, but too much life has been happening lately. So I decided that I would give a little peak at a sneak peak. :) I will write more about this absolutely gorgeous wedding and amazing couple in a post to come...but until then enjoy these images.

{My Family} Memory Quilt

Today my mom would have turned 66 years old. She missed this birthday by 4 months. Today when I should have been calling her and having our four-year-old sing happy birthday to her, we miss her and our celebrating her life.

Although today was Mom's birthday, I was the one who received an amazing gift. Shortly after Mom's funeral, my pastor's wife, Becky Willeford, told me to pick out some of Mom's clothes that I especially remember her wearing, and she would make a quilt for me. Well about a month ago, I deposited about 6 large vacuumed packed bags of clothes at her house. I don't know what I was envisioning this quilt looking like. To be honest, I wondered if I would even recognize some of the clothing after it had been cut up. Amazing. Awesome. Wonderful. Indescribable. Unbelievable. I don't know if I am using even the right words. I'm speechless. I don't have to words to explain how I felt when she brought the finished product to me today. I can see my mom in every inch of this quilt. The memories that have been flooding back all day long. It is so beautiful! And I can't thank her enough for doing this for me. God has certainly given her a gift. It made my day and made it bearable. I will treasure this quilt for a lifetime.

I miss you so much, Mom. Happy Birthday. I love you.
